Orkney IFA Ltd was established in July 2005 by the two remaining partners of Alastair Macleod IFA, Thorfinn Rendall and Steve Smith. Thorfinn and Steve are Directors and have been giving independent advice to clients in Orkney since April 2000; Orkney IFA's identity has been established by offering a specialised, completely confidential service, be it on an individual or corporate basis.
Both Thorfinn and Steve advise clients in specialised areas such as Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs), pension drawdown, portfolio construction, Group Personal Pension Schemes, individual pensions and business protection planning, as well as inheritance tax planning and investments.
Mark Crook joined us in October 2006 after seven years as manager of a local building society. He's a Registered Mortgage Adviser and looks after mortgages, bridging loans, secured loans, commercial loans and Equity Release plans, as well as offering advice on mortgage protection insurances, income protection and other insurances.
Denise Stevenson joined us in December 2006 and takes care of client management and back office systems.
William Elliott moved to Orkney from Australia in 2011, though his connection with Orkney has been significantly longer - his partner is originally from Stronsay. William's worked in the financial services industry since 2005 and was an adviser and client relationship manager with Australian Financial. He received his Diploma in Financial Planning (Australia) in 2010 and is currently re-qualifying in the UK regulatory environment. He's in the process of taking over the management of Orkney IFA's increasing number of Group Pension Schemes, under which many of Orkney's best known employers provide for pensions for their employees. |
